The Choate Boys Water Polo program is coached
by head coach Todd Currie and assistant coach Mike
Velez.
Todd Currie returned to the program for the 2004 season. He first took
over the team in the fall of 1991 when he arrived at Choate. From 1991
through 2001, the program amassed a record of 120-81-1 (112-55-1 in the
league) and played for the New England Championship four times. Coach Currie
played his high school water polo in Highland Park, IL and continued at
Dartmouth College. He teaches biology, honors biology and marine science
at Choate and lives in East Cottage with his wife and two children and
17 students.

Mike Velez is a 2000 graduate of Choate who returned to Wallingford
in the fall of 2004 to join the history department at Choate. Though Coach
Velez's primary sports are hockey and lacrosse, he brings an understanding
of field sports to help improve the skills of the players on the team.
Coach Velez is a great addition to the program! |
